Day 48 – The Anxious Mind

Sometimes your head is the most comforting place to be, a place to daydream, be grateful and peaceful.  Other times, your head is a place where you are stuck, fearful, incessantly noisy and ruminative.  The anxiety speaks loudly about how you’re not enough and gives you many examples of how you have failed.

I’m not going to give you any trite advice about how to get out of your head and stop thinking.  It’s different for each person.  Distraction and meditation can provide different ways to focus your mind on other things, but when you stop, the noise returns.

So I’m going to take my busy anxious mind to the only place, it can go right now…to bed.  Sleep is the only blissful escape I have found from over thinking, and upon waking up, I will (hopefully) feel grounded and myself again.
