As per my usual Saturday roundup, I’m bringing your some of the things that have tickled my fancy this week.
What is helping me dig a little deeper…
Spring Cleaning for the Mind by Mel Robbins. I’ve talked about this already, but it’s the step I’ve always felt was missing in any literature I ever read about the law of attraction and positive thinking…action. She focuses on:
- Five traps of self-doubt.
- Three mistakes and truths of passion.
- Solving the right problem.
That’s all I will say…go and work through it with her free workbook. =)
What I have been reading….
The Yellow Envelope – Kim Dinan. I almost put this down a couple of times because at first I was not connecting, but I’m glad I stayed with it. Relationships are not always easy, but often it is our own personal lens of perspective that can be more of the problem; however, we can’t absorb this by being told. We have to figure it out in our own journey.
After Kim and her husband decide to quit their jobs to travel around the world, they’re given a yellow envelope containing a check and instructions to give the money away. The only three rules for the envelope: Don’t overthink it; share your experiences; don’t feel pressured to give it all away.
Through Ecuador, Peru, Nepal, and beyond, Kim and Brian face obstacles, including major challenges to their relationship. As she distributes the gift to people she encounters along the way she learns that money does not have a thing to do with the capacity to give, but that giving―of ourselves―is transformational.
Who I am listening to…
NF – Let You Down. Some music you listen to just evokes an emotional response. It’s different for everyone depending on what you’re going through. Powerful rap song about failed parental relationships.
